Trying to replace an hugely popular phone, Apple had to do miracles with their new release, the iPhone 3G. And I think they did. On the exterior the phone looks more or less the same as its older brother, except the back side which is black this time, giving it a very slick look. On the inside is yet again a single device which perform as three different ones: mobile phone, mp3 player (iPod), and an Internet device, but it is much improved. But to get to what I really wanted to say, Apple shouldn’t have make it available only on a few networks. I understand they get loads of money for exclusivity, but they also encourage the black market. If they would have make it available without any restrictions we probably would have paid somewhere between $300 - £ 600 for a brand new device, bought from any mobile phones shop, but instead we have to pay as high as $900 for an unlocked phone which might not even work properly. Of course you can buy it on a contract from the networks which hold the exclusivity, but you will end up in a lengthy and rather expensive contract.

So I’ll say Apple made a very good device but a very poor marketing decision. Unless they wanted to help black marketers.
